We are leveraging that expertise to build a new software engineering team for one of the largest defense contractors in the country. As a member of this team, you will be on the front lines helping establish the next big account for QuEST. Experienced managers in Delivery will be supporting you and the new team as we launch our unique Engineering Services model to help them deliver top notch aerospace and defense products. The Role We are seeking a full time Senior Software Engineer who will design, develop, implement, and maintain software solutions as required to meet the needs of our customers and achieve business goals. Development will be focused on military aircraft fleet operations databases and the associated use of that data to drive reporting for the fleet. You will typically operate as part of an Agile development project team, exercising autonomy as a unified group. You will work with other Software Engineers & Technical Leads to implement and review test plans, data, and reports to ensure product(s) complies with requirements. You may at times be involved with multiple projects across all phases of development, and as a result, you can expect plenty of variety and a well-rounded workload. Potential Job Functions · Develop/design software for military aircraft maintenance systems and databases · Responsibilities will span the software development lifecycle, including: requirements generation, system and software design and implementation, validation and verification, and deficiency resolution · Build test scripts for software validation · Perform analysis on any bugs or code deficiencies to determine root cause · Interact with customers/users and transpose requirements into technical designs · Develop design documents, project documentation, release documents, and technical procedural documentation · Work within budgetary and schedule constraints · Present work to customers at Product Reviews · Work effectively within, and participate in, a Scrum/Agile working environment · Interface with other QuEST departments to achieve cross functional goals · Contribute to scrum meetings, project kickoffs, etc. Qualifications The successful candidate is detail oriented and highly collaborative. There will be a significant amount of interaction with the customer’s teams. Listening to the customer’s issues and offering proactive solutions is critical to building a strong relationship with this new customer. · Must hold a minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related degree, and 10+ years of development experience · Demonstrated proficiency in JAVA, C++, or C# applications · Experience building test scripts in Perl, Python, or similar · 5+ years’ experience developing software for military fleet operations system platforms such as Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) or Operational Data Integrated Network (ODIN) · Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new methods, techniques, and approaches · Experience with Mil-STD-882C · Demonstrated communication skills · Agile software development experience is preferred · Experience working within a Continuous Development / Continuous Integration pipeline development environment is preferred · Experience with development tools such as Rhapsody is a plus · Agile Process Tools (e.g. Jira) experience is a plus · Work well in a team oriented, collaborative environment · Are meticulously detail oriented · Enjoy people and dynamic teams with diverse experiences.
