Job Description

Healthcare Control Systems, Inc. (HCS), a rapidly growing company, seeks a full-time full stack Mid-Level Software Developer Engineer in Test to lead our QA effort and work with our dynamic small team of software and field engineers in Austin, Texas. This person will design, implement and enhance our suite of automated tests for our healthcare workflow products. Applicants should be flexible and able to participate in the full software development cycle from design to maintenance and be confident in testing any and all parts of the software from the server to the user interface. The initial focus of the position will be to improve and extend product reliability through development of automated black box testing. Applicants should have a strong knowledge of test design, testing frameworks and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

    Act independently as a top-level contributor testing complex programs.

    Extend and improve software quality through automated test design and implementation.

    Initiate, drive and deliver effective tests in partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of the application’s architecture meet the highest standards.

    Track development deliverables and communicate their status to lead architects.

    Exhibit creativity and resourcefulness at problem solving while collaborating and working effectively with best-in-class engineers of varying technical backgrounds.

    Integrate best practices to promote problem avoidance and continuous improvement.


Job Requirements:

    4+ years experience in SDET or similar software testing.

    Excellent design and coding skills in Python, JavaScript or similar languages.

    Experience with Squish, Jenkins, TestRail, JIRA or similar tools.

    Experience with test reuse and modularization

    Ability to be proactive, self-directed, detailed, and organized.


Preferred Skills:

    Knowledge of SQL, preferably MSSQL

    Linux, Windows and mobile testing
