Our Client

One of Europe’s leading early stage smart city technology platforms is looking for a US based sales leader. We have been retained to find the companies first US based employee to help drive new customer acquisition.

Our client is a next generation smart city platform provider, focusing on city mobility as the core problem cities face today. They provide a SaaS cloud-based system for fare collection, CAD/AVL, mobile applications, MaaS, parking and citizen engagement tools that will transform the way people commute in modern cities. Their market entry focus is on smaller and medium cities, with plans to expand into large metro areas. They believe that modern systems should be simple and easy to use. Our clients platform integrates across multiple forms of transportation and allows for easy payment and travel across all modalities.

What You'll Do:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Sales will be responsible for all elements of business development and revenue growth for the East and West Coast of North America. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to think strategically, to identify opportunities in cities and communities that represent the best fit for our clients smart city platform.

· Experience in consultative selling of technical products with a complicated sales cycle.

· Demonstrated ability to follow, and improve upon, a defined sales process, evolved from the European process and model.

· Ability to successfully "wear many hats" in a dynamic, rapidly changing startup environment - highly adaptable, team players only.

· Strong familiarity with, and adherence to, best practices in sales tools - including CRM (Salesforce), prospecting, and outreach/communications-management systems.

· Influence all levels of management and decision makers throughout the sales process, by utilizing a consultative and thorough approach to engaging the target cities urban development agendas.

· Build on relationships with key decision makers in town planning, infrastructure and public transport sectors.

What You Bring:

· 5-10 years experience selling complex solutions

· Post-secondary education, preferably in management or business (Engineering or Computer Science)

· Tangible, demonstrated history of sales achievement in past roles

· Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

· Experience in consultative selling of complex technology to small to mid-size cities in the US

· Demonstrated ability to follow, and improve upon, a defined sales process

· Ability to successfully "wear many hats" in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment

· Strong familiarity with, and adherence to, best practices in sales tools - including CRM (Salesforce), prospecting, and outreach/communications-management systems.

· Willingness to travel regularly
