Job Description: The primary role of this individual is to ensure great software is built for clients and the users of their products. In the our delivery model, the User Experience Designer joins our proven high caliber team to craft & build quality software applications. This role focuses on UX/UI design for web-based GUI development, using emerging technologies to support the creation of enterprise grade applications. Planning, design and development work in this operating model is rigorous, disciplined and uses leading-edge technologies to develop simple & efficient solutions.
Responsibilities include: − Work alongside client product owners and business analysts & engineers to design solutions in a focused agile delivery model. Constant communication and collaboration are a must. − Effectively communicate with the technical team and client − Leverage UX/UI design disciplines to support work in-take, prioritization, and requirements definition. Frequently interview and communicate with clients to understand problems to solve, and use design tools to translate & clarify solutions for product development. − Designing user experiences for new and existing web-based applications − Designing user-friendly solutions for complex workflows − Designing high-fidelity mockups & prototypes using Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Sketch or equivalents − Creating design artifacts, workflow diagrams, low-fidelity mockups, wireframes, static and functional prototypes that supplement the high-fidelity mockups − Provide the client and technical team with clear, concise design documentation and specs that meet the needs of the business. − Participate in design review sessions, explain design concepts and decisions to client product owners & stakeholders, business analysts & development teams − Lead user research, product discovery, and usability testing − Understand and follow user experience design processes, standards, and best practices − Maintains proficient understanding of business processes, supporting applications, and strategic direction.
Experience / Skills: - 6-8 years of experience in this or related field and have a strong background with task analysis and user interface design. A formal education in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Architecture, or related field is desirable but not required. - Demonstrated ability to design compelling and intuitive user interfaces.
- Extensive experience working in an agile environment, with software engineering teams building user facing web applications - Experience with UX/UI design leadership, talent development / coaching and management of teams & workflow - Experience with big picture thinking coupled with the ability to focus on the details on a day-to-day basis; applies a high degree of creativity and problem-solving - Strong ability to support multiple development activities concurrently - A passion for design, usability and simplicity - Some experience with agile tools such as Rally or Jira - Knowledge or understanding of how systems work. Exposure to application components: UI, web services, server architecture, system architecture, databases - Highly organized, self-starter, with strong client relationship skills - Demonstrated ability to work iteratively with customers to gather and document user experience requirements. - Ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences - Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail - Expertise in visual design & prototyping tools like Axure, Invision or equivalents
