Job Description

Cimarron is seeking a senior-level Satellite Ground Station Software Engineer to support the On-Orbit Satellite Engineering Support (OOES) team at the Naval Satellite Operations Center (NAVSOC) in Point Mugu, CA.  This is a critical position to provide improved operations for legacy Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) systems, ensuring their continued support to warfighters throughout the life of the system.  The selected candidate for this position can be located in Point Mugu, CA or Colorado Springs, CO. 

KEY DUTIES 

    Lead and contribute to software development efforts to improve existing planning and analysis tools. Create and improve new analysis tools based on long-term trends of key commanding and telemetry data.Automate planning, scheduling, and analysis capabilities.Incorporate Machine Learning (ML) to analyze key system data to enable early prediction of system degradation or impending anomalies.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

    Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. Active Secret Clearance or higher. 5 or more years of software development experience. Relevant experience in software design, development, test, and evaluation supporting projects of similar size, scope, and complexity.Recent supervisory experience.Ability to make timely, knowledge-based decisions.Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Physical Sciences.

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

    Experience developing, maintaining, and testing operational satellite ground system software.Experience with the Navy UHF Follow-On (UFO) and FLTSAT satellite Legacy Pass Plan Automation (LPPA) systems.Experience with the Navy Multi-User Objective System (MUOS) and Pass Plan Automation (MPPA) systems.Experience with the NAVSOC Error and Enhancement Reporting System (EAERS).Prior MILSATCOM experience.
