Job Description

Techstra is seeking an experienced Interoperability SMART on FHIR HL7 software engineer/lead to build applications in the Health Information Technology domain. As a member of the Techstra team you will lead and mentor an application delivery team in developing an advanced Healthcare application interfacing with various 3rd party systems. You will also design, build and maintain training and development documentation for designated systems.

Responsibilities

    Provide hands-on support and mentorship to the App Dev team with their project needsDesign, develop, port, document, test, and support New FHIR, C# .Net/Core and/ or Open-Source, scalable REST API'sWork cohesively with the team or individually in providing solutions to enable harness the value of healthcare integrated systems strategyMaintain abreast evolving and emerging technologies in relation to scalable distributed systemsStay abreast cloud solutions including AWS Cloud, EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, ESE, Lambda functions and similarTeach other developers FHIR coding practices and techniques for effectively working within the designated architectureParticipate in Product Team meetings and act as an engineering expertEmploy best-practices and standards with security and privacy in mind

 

Key Qualifications 

    Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent degreeMaster's degree highly desired in Computer Science or Information SystemsFull life-cycle experience (design through delivery and support)Development experience in Health IT domainExperience working on HL7 and/or FHIR interfacesExperience working with third-party controlsExperience working on EHR applicationsHands-on experience in building HL7 Messaging Standards, FHIR, CDA, CCD, SOA, XML / JSON, REST API, ESB and APIM solutions (FHIR is a MUST)Working knowledge of EHR system implementation, ideally experience with Epic EHRStrong Knowledge Authentication and Authorization, HIPAA security guidelines specifically as to how they pertain to FHIR Client and Server implementations2+ years of experience developing RESTful web services and web services integration leveraging technologies such as C# .NET,Core /MVC, REST microservices, MongoDB, AWS, Open Source, CICD experience a plusOutstanding troubleshooting/problem solving abilitiesInquisitive and resourceful– not afraid to network within the organizations to ask relevant questionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of individuals with varying technical skillsTeam builder and facilitator of cross team discussions with proven ability to identify and remove roadblocks and resolve issuesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriatelyWorking knowledge of HIPAA and information security best practices. Exposure to healthcare data types and terminology helpful (i.e. what is a CPT Code, what's an ICD10 code, what is an MPI)

Location

This position is available as remote from home (Due to COVID-19 all work is currently remote).
