SCOPE OF WORK FOR SYSTEMS ANALYST:
Responsible for working closely with Functional Departments and project team members to
understand business requirements for business needs. Participate in the Software Development
Life Cycle (e.g. Waterfall and Lean Agile), for designing , testing, implementing, maintaining and
supporting applications software and interfaces delivered as a part of support or projects. Design
and develop functional specifications, produces deliverables related to the project(s) assigned
and assists in post implementation, support and system enhancements. Technical Consulting is
a part of day to day operations and projects on various programming techniques and solutions.
Provides solution design and product evaluations along with buy vs. build recommendations.
Develops design and functional specifications, produces deliverables related to the project(s)
assigned and assists in post implementation support and system enhancements. Responsible for
selecting appropriate C.A.S.E. tools to develop systems and software. This role will primarily
provide day to day maintenance and support of existing software solutions and interfaces along
with new projects.
The Programmer Analyst must have a strong IT and technical background with desired transit
experience and knowledge of transit technologies. It is preferred that the Programmer Analyst is
able to provide or possess the following:
a. Strong technical and analytical skills to facilitate in the design, coding, and testing of
software solutions and integration projects.
b. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or
equivalent work experience in an Application Development environment.
c. Requires 1 to 3 years of systems analysis/programming experience.
d. Develops systems solutions from analysis and research. Works on small to large, complex
projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and possesses
knowledge in a specific business area. Works on one or more projects as a project team
member or sometimes as a project lead.
e. Programming Experience is required with SOL, C++, .Net, or Jav.
f. Experience working with SQL and/or Oracle Databases.
g. Proficient with using MS XP. Windows 7 and MS Office Suite.
h. Advance experience in Designing, Unit Testing, and implementing software development
i. Knowledge of complex Object-Oriented Methodologies and Client Server System
j. Advanced experience in troubleshooting and debugging.
k. Experience with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.
l. Knowledge of and the ability to integrate enterprise level commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)
application software products into existing or new Software Solutions.
m. Timely data entry and tracking of all work requests utilizing a BMC ticket tracking system
n. Support coverage may be during different shifts (e.g. Sunday - Thursday, Tuesday -
Saturday, 10 am - 6:30 pm, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm).

They are expected to write design documents and test scripts and user manuals for users.Prepare systems specifications, support documentation and technical documentation for applications.The candidate must be proficient in application design, iterative/agile development and industry standard testing and change management processes.
