Job DescriptionSoftware Engineer - Product / Full Stack
FTE, direct hire
Our client is looking for a full stack software engineer to join us in building a digital platform for automating homeownership. As a member of the engineering team, you will work closely with developers, designers and product owners to build and maintain software across all layers of the technical stack.
 
Our codebase is primarily a mix of Elixir and JavaScript, but talented programmers of any language are encouraged to apply - polyglots are preferred. Context switching, attention to detail and the ability to gather and maintain requirements across multiple departments are all great qualities to bring to this role.
 
We're a small but nimble development team that works in two week sprints, while also recognizing that growth and innovation are core ingredients of our success. Candidates who thrive in creative or artistic environments just as well as technical ones are especially encouraged to apply.
 
Qualifications

    Mid to senior level proficiency with backend web development (Elixir + Phoenix preferred)Mid level proficiency with frontend web languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS / Sass)Proficiency working with PostgreSQL and strong understanding of relational database concepts - relationships, join queries, etc.Experience developing software in a collaborative environment; understanding of Git and familiar with issue tracking software (GitLab Issues, JIRA etc.) is necessarySome knowledge of infrastructure and deployment preferred (AWS, DigitalOcean, GNU / Linux VPS management, Docker, Kubernetes)General understanding of transactional and marketing communications, email authentication / DMARC, deliverability
Responsibilities
    Write, maintain and deploy production-grade backend and front end codeAssist product owners in scoping, architecting and implementing solutions to business initiativesWork with designers to turn UI wireframes into responsive interfacesRespond to support requests and bug reports in various channels - Slack, email, GitLab, and so onParticipate in quality assessment of other developers' work (code reviews, manual testing, etc.)Expand test coverage across all areas of the software stack
