Job Summary:

We are looking for a Technical Writer with Content Management knowledge and/or experience to support global technical documentation projects. This person develops and designs instructional and informational tools needed to assure safe, appropriate, and effective use of our systems. This position combines strong communication skills with technical expertise. This person researches, plans, develops, and maintains online, on-system, and printed end-user documentation for Diagnostic hardware and software products. The ideal candidate will be able to gather requirements for, plan, and implement technologies supporting technical publications production activities. This person will effectively interpret detailed information and present it in the appropriate manner, drive projects from scheduling and planning, content development and management, and draft reviews through final edit, approval, and release. Excellent grammar, editing, organization, teamwork, and written and verbal communication skills are a must.

 

Works on projects that are complex. Independent action and initiative are required. Selects techniques and recommends modifications best suited to produce desired results. Consults frequently with Software Developers, Engineers and Customer facing advocates such as, Technical Support groups. Works closely with Project Teams, Project Management, Product Managers, other Technical Documentation representatives, and Management to obtain information. Performs necessary support tasks: coordinates with internal customers, ensures regulatory compliance, and obtains approvals.

 

Job Description:

Design, develops, formats, implements and manages technical writing and content creation, to meet the demands for the production of manuals and operational specifications, including the creation and maintenance of documentation for hardware and software user’s guides, service and electronic media including on-line help.Manages revisions of technical documentation and delivery of global labeling and content.Ensures integrity of data and document use, which may include customer data and quality and regulatory data following ISO standards to internal quality and production standards.

 

Required:

3+ years’ experience as a Technical Communicator/WriterBachelor’s or Master’s degree in the life sciences, English, Journalism, or a related fieldExperience authoring in Adobe FrameMaker 9.x.x or above for Windows required – template development and structured (XML) preferred;

 

Preferred skills include:

Experience and knowledge of Information ArchitectureExperience with content management concepts, systems, and implementation preferred.
