Job Description

An international manufacturer of high-speed processing and packaging machinery and automation solutions for the Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Personal Care, and Household Products industries is looking to fill a new role as an Electrical/PLC Programmer.

The purpose of this position is to perform software programming and electrical debugging activities specifically related to the Customer Service sector of the business while in the field at the customer site. In direct collaboration with the Service and Retrofits teams, this position is responsible for ensuring that all customers receive the highest degree of software support and that the company's machines continue to run smoothly throughout their lifetime.

This individual will perform software programming and electrical debugging on Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs and setup servos, VFD, etc. during customer installs, repairs, and retrofits. You will provide programming and electrical support for the setup and testing of ancillary equipment (laser printers, bowl feeders, etc.) that are connected to the company's product. You will load programs into PLSs and perform basic programming tasks on standard components.

The ideal candidate will live in the Northeastern USA area, and work from their home. Heavy travel of up to 75%, 95% of which will be within the USA. Some work can be done via phone or computer connection, but most will be at a customer's manufacturing location.

Requirements:

    Strong PLC programming experience on Allen-Bradley and Siemens.Electrical engineering experience in the field of automation/industrial machinery. High-Speed Packaging Machinery experience is an asset.BSC. or similar technical education in the field of electrical engineeringGood working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical5-8 years' experience in the field of electrical automation/industrial machinery.Above-average command of Microsoft Office.A strong command of the English Language.The ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

The company provides all tools necessary, including a laptop, keyboard, mouse, 2 monitors, 3D mouse, and desk phone. Relevant software includes Dayforce, Concur, AutoCAD Electrical, and SmartTeam.

This is an hourly position(full-time) for up to 44-hours per week. Time-and-a-half for over 44 hours. Double time for holidays. When traveling, there is a daily per-diem of $55 (for meals), plus the company pays for all hotels, airfare, car rentals, etc. If you are required to work over a weekend, an additional "weekend allowance" will be paid.
