Job Description

Responsibilities

    Lead the technical aspects of the development team, overseeing the design, implementation and support of the software development projects, ensuring that project goals and business objectives are met
    Make informed decisions regarding technologies, application architecture, Integration and implementation strategyDevelop technical solutions, designs, and specificationsReview of Technical Designs to ensure adherence to quality & security standards and compliance with requirementsEnsure proper developments methods and standards are defined and adhered toDevelopment & Delivery of Unit Tested Reports, Interfaces, integrations and ExtensionsApply knowledge of software architecture principles and patterns, such as SOA, OO, and MVCSupervise work of a technical team to ensure integrity of an overall solutionWork with the third-party vendors for defining and implementing integrationsPrepare and maintain Detailed Development Work planPrepare Development staffing planPrepare weekly team status reportsIdentify risks and form contingency plansCoordinate team activities with other team membersIdentify and manage RAID items assigned to the teamPrepare Change Request impact assessments for assigned itemsCommunicate problems to PMO for timely resolutionPerform follow up and provide feedback to development team members on process and development tasksDefine integration architecture patterns

Experience, Skills and Abilities

    Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related area of study, or demonstrated equivalent work experience is required
    10+ years of experience in professional software developmentMinimum 5+ years of working experience as Technical LeadMinimum 5+ years of experience in programming of .Net code (ASP.Net with MVC4, VB.NET)Minimum 3+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL programmingAny Utility specific design, development and integration experience is a plusExcellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skillsExperience with API development and integration (REST and SOAP) is strongly recommendedExperience with creating and/or implementing designs and integration patterns connecting varied technology systems and vendor platforms.Experience managing technical priorities within the BacklogAny prior working experience with utility’s CIS, MWM, DSS etc. systems is a plusExperience integrating both modern and legacy systems is a plusStrong work ethics with good time management skillsAbility to communicate to business in easy to understand non-technical termsDemonstrate a full understanding of Continuous Integration and development
