PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Following established procedures and formats, researches, writes, edits and proofreads technical data for use in routine documents or sections of documents such as manuals, procedures and specifications.
Capture and document procedural processes during maintenance and operation events. Validate and/or verify existing processes for accuracy and completeness.
Work with Subject Matter Experts to analyze hardware and expendable requirements for new/updated processes. Supports technical documentation compiling, writing/editing and/or coordinating.
Analyzes requirements, develops source material, consults engineering and technical staff and works with editors, illustrators and the like in preparing a draft.
Performs all other duties as assigned. Works with limited supervision. May resolve complex problems with limited or no assistance.
Must be able to prepare draft material for internal review by Engineers, Subject Matter Experts and final review by customer.
Must have the ability to read engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams and trade/engineering journals.
Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write in clear, concise format.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Associates Degree in English, Journalism, Technology or related field.
In lieu of formal education, six (6) years of equivalent related experience.
Required Years of Experience
Entry level position - two (2) years of experience within related field with formal education.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OR EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with military technical manuals or documents, delivery, and integrated logistics support (ARs, MIL STDs and MIL-PRFs, TPDRs, DIDs, Contenta, etc.) is preferred
- Experience authoring using Arbortext is a plus.
- Prior military experience is a plus.
