Analyzes, designs, develops, modifies, writes, edits, and implements embedded software for aftermarket automotive components.
" Develops, designs, and edits original operating systems, control systems, microcontrollers, or drivers.
" Analyzes and defines requirements to determine specifications, standards, and tests solutions.
" Interface with hardware design and development.
" Determines the cost of new and modified systems and engages in the proposal process.
" Trains users and writes training manuals.
" Manages user support and feedback.
" Other duties as assigned.
" Comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
" Extensive programming experience in C or C++.
" Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
" Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
" Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc).
" Experience with lab tools - logic analyzer, JTAG debugger, oscilloscope, power supply, function generator.
" 5+ years experience in embedded software engineering.
