DUTIES: Provide technical leadership within teams responsible for delivering quality X1 platform video products and services; participate in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including feature design, software development, testing, and software deployment; obtain project priorities from management, and communicate with team members, ensuring projects are completed according to product and technical requirements; utilize Perl scripting language and Agile development methodology to develop software tests in a Linux operating system; perform fast-paced software testing, including test case creation of the following: positive test cases, negative test cases, boundary condition test cases, White box testing, and Grey box testing; utilize JIRA and Zephyr for test case management; conduct advanced analysis and troubleshooting with data analyzers and log parsing; incorporate Set-top box (STB) technologies, including HDCP, HDMI, 4K, HDR, MPEG4, MPEG2, Wifi, DAC, DNCS, and Bluetooth, in the testing of advanced video content and functionality; gather complex software operational data, interpret failure analysis information, and reduce into concise conclusions for efficient reporting; participate in problem triaging and troubleshooting sessions; working with software development teams to analyze and resolve design issues; collect project status updates, review progress and results, provide feedback and recommendations to the team, and report updates to management; conduct resource planning and load-leveling; and mentor, train, and provide direction to both onshore and offshore teams with regard to best practices, procedures, and techniques.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; and five (5) years of experience performing software testing, including test case creation of the following: positive test cases, negative test cases, boundary condition test cases, White box testing, and Grey box testing; participating in the entire SDLC; utilizing Perl scripting language and Agile development methodology to develop software tests in a Linux operating system; utilizing the following technologies for STB software: HDCP, HDMI, 4K, HDR, MPEG4, MPEG2, Wifi, DAC, DNCS, and Bluetooth; and using JIRA and Zephyr for test case management.
